The Direction of Otherworld
Recently, I’ve been seeing a whole lot of World of Warcraft players hopping over to RuneScape. As a developer whose games hang out somewhere in the middle of these two, I can’t lie... it makes me a bit nervous. At first, I thought WoW might just be winding down. Maybe it was getting dull, or players were just over it. But surprise, surprise! It seems it's more about some developer shenanigans with Blizzard and what’s happening in the WoW community.
Now, I’m no WoW guru. I’m more of a RuneScape enthusiast, but I have insane respect for WoW. It’s legendary for a reason!
I’m thinking that the direction of my game, Otherworld, could strike a perfect balance between the epicness of WoW and the good ol’ grind of RuneScape. Just imagine it: endless fishing sessions and quests so long you could lose track of time. Who doesn’t love a grind that feels like a part-time job, right?
